Our Karapiro substation is an important part of transmission supply for both Te Awamutu and Hinuera substations
Transpower has a significant work programme at Karapiro to replace equipment and rationalise how circuits are connected and terminated within the facility. Due to the nature of supply from this substation - the construction phase will allow for a staged equipment removal and replacement process. This means that the impact on substations supplied by this facility - like Hinuera will be reduced during construction.
For those supplied by our Hinuera substation (so including Matamata, Tirau and Putaruru) there are two scheduled day long outages needed:
