In order to progress our $415 million underground cabling project to reinforce Auckland and North Auckland, we're planning quite a bit of work over the next few months which will disrupt traffic flows around the region:
Fanshawe Street Works (December 27 to March)
Traffic controls have been removed from Fanshawe Street. Night works will start from 11 February for final reinstatement of the road surface. These will have minimal impact on road users.
Westhaven Drive (December 27 to March)
Traffic restrictions will be in place with a single lane around our worksites and occasional localised temporary road closures. These closures will only affect through traffic and access will be maintained from both ends of Westhaven Drive. There will not be any road closures during holiday weekends or during major boating events.
We regret the inconvenience caused by these works, but they are critical in allowing us to install cable and ducting for Auckland's new cross harbour electricity transmission cable link.
