Transpower has today welcomed the Commerce Commission’s approval of a grid output amendment for Transpower’s Bombay Ōtāhuhu Regional Major Capex Proposal (MCP).

Transpower GM Grid Development John Clarke said the amendment will enable Transpower to replace the conductor wire from Ōtāhuhu to Wiri, further adding to the capacity of the transmission network in Auckland.

“Transpower’s intention is to reconductor that section of the line by 2024,” he said. “Through the consultation process a wide range of feedback was received and considered, and Transpower thanks those who made contributions to this process.”
