Our biennial STAR Awards

Safety is a priority at Transpower. We are committed to providing a safe workplace for our employees, service providers and contractors.

Why hold the STAR Awards?

Our STAR (Safety Thanks And Recognition) Awards recognise the importance of safety in our business and promote a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture in our industry. The awards focus on thanks and recognition for individuals, leaders and teams who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to safety, health and wellbeing, and provide a high level of visibility to those who achieve awards.

Who is eligible for a STAR Award?

The Awards are open to everyone who does Transpower work – this includes our Service Provider companies, all contractors, subcontractors and consultants, and all Transpower employees.

How does the Awards programme work?

The STAR Awards are held every two years and we are pleased to announce the categories for the 2018 STAR Awards.

In 2018, we will also be providing guidance as to the judging criteria for each award once nominations open on 1 July 2018.

Nominations are open for a six-week period, after which a panel of independent judges, who are each recognised as a safety leader in their industries, meet to discuss entries and decide the finalists for each award category.

Finalists will be announced in September ahead of the STAR Awards dinner and presentation when the winners of each Award will be announced.

This time, the event has rotated to Hamilton and will be held on 15 November 2018.

Everyone who is selected as a finalist will receive a letter from our Chief Executive Alison Andrew.
