11 kV Switchroom

The new 11 kV switchgear building standard drawings are yet to be created.

The proposed design will be developed from the newly completed 33kV switchgear building design. The building structure will be is a 2-storey precast concrete building comprising of a double switchroom with fire segregation, specifically configured to house Transpower supplied RPS indoor switchgear.

Power cables will pass underneath the perimeter foundation and ground slab and enter the building through a trench provided centrally in the ground floor.  The first floor is a reinforced concrete slab cast on permanent formwork. The switchgear spans a void in the first floor to allow cables entering from below. The surrounding slab is supported on longitudinal steel beams at the void and on steel brackets at the perimeter walls.
