Evolving market resource co-ordination in Aotearoa New Zealand (Closed)

White Paper

This consultation sought feedback on a thought piece published by Transpower as system operator that highlighted opportunities to enhance and evolve how we perform resource co-ordination in the Aotearoa New Zealand wholesale electricity market.

As system operator, Transpower balances electricity supply and demand and manages frequency and voltage on the grid to ensure it remains stable at all times. A key function in balancing supply and demand is co-ordinating resources in the wholesale electricity market via scheduling and dispatching. Our approach to co-ordinating market resources must evolve to reflect the changes in the market and system.
