Transpower advises that we are currently experiencing a power outage on our network, affecting Hokitika and the surrounding area, following today’s storm conditions and high winds.
Our crews are currently planning a safe entry to the site, so they can assess the cause of the damage and begin restoration.
Given the current weather conditions, it may take some time to get electricity back to Hokitika and the surrounding areas.
Residents and businesses in affected areas should expect to be without power for some time. We will confirm a restoration time once our crews have reached the site and begun repair works.
