Special Protection Schemes

Our electricity transmission network includes a number of special protection schemes. Our latest information on each scheme is available here.

Network Diagrams

The Network Diagrams include NIPS, SIPS, SPD Drawings and Substation Locators and are contained within the System Operator section of our website.

Relay and Instrument Diagrams

Relay and Instrument Diagrams are for individual substations and show a high level of detail. These are available on our MyTranspower portal. Log in or register here

Note: Some of the latest relay and instrument information may be used for information purposes only. These will be stamped "Uncontrolled Copy". These should be used with caution and only when information is required for switching, and making safe other operational actions that can affect personnel safety or power system security.

Single Line Diagrams

The Transpower regional Single Line Diagram defines Transpower and our customer asset ownership/operational control boundaries and connect groups of substations.  These diagrams have guideline status only.

The Transpower substation Single Line Diagram (Operating) defines Transpower's operational assets (and customer operational assets where the SLD is of mutual interest). Only the Operating SLDs must be used for reference required for switching, making safe and other operational actions that can affect personnel safety or power system security.

Single Line Diagrams are updated within a month of the changes occurring on site.

These are available on our MyTranspower portal. Log in or register here
