About the Engineering and Technology Excellence Awards

On Tuesday, 15 October 2024, Transpower will host the second Engineering and Technology Excellence Awards at the St James Theatre in Wellington. A black-tie event to celebrate some of the best engineering and technology specialists the electricity transmission sector has to offer. This is a chance to put into the spotlight our engineering and technology specialists who demonstrate excellence and deliver outstanding solutions that empower the energy future of Aotearoa.

Our Engineering and Technology Excellence Awards are for Transpower engineering and technology specialists and our wider Transpower whānau – our engineering consultant panel members, our service providers, and other external consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors we work closely with. The Engineering and Technology Excellence Awards are biennial and the highest accolades in Aotearoa’s electricity transmission sector. We look forward to our people and our wider whānau getting involved.

Engineering and technology work sits at the very core of what we do at Transpower. As the owner and operator of New Zealand’s national electricity transmission system we rely on engineering solutions and use of technology to solve tricky problems and deliver our services.

We are proud to have people working with us who engage in getting tricky things done under pressure over sustained periods, problem solving and find solutions that improve the ways we work, consider the wider impacts of their work, understand sometimes less is more, push their boundaries and do things they didn’t think possible, generate transformational change and raise our standards. We want to shine a light on our people and celebrate their work.
